Tony Atienza
2017 Chula Vista High School TEACHER OF THE YEAR and 2011 California Music Educator’s Association MULTICULTURAL TEACHER OF THE YEAR; Tony was director of Choral Music at the School for the Creative and Performing Arts in Chula Vista from 1993 to 2017. In 2012, his show choir was ranked in PARADE’S top 15 Search for America’s Favorite show choir! He won the Grammy Signature School Award in 2000, 2001 and 2002! He founded The Southern California Show-Choir Invitational (1995), which has become the most prestigious show-choir competition on the west coast! Tony Atienza is Past President of the California Music Educators’ Association.
